About Polaris:
Polaris Management Partners (Polaris) is a management consulting and technology firm that provides consulting and IT services to the life science industry. Our clients include 14 of the 15 largest global pharmaceutical companies, as well as other smaller pharmaceutical firms, medical device and biotech firms. Polaris provides range of consulting services, focusing on healthcare compliance, process optimization, process review and technology.
Overview:
The Developer will work primarily as a support resource to teams led by Consultants and/or Project Managers to meet goals and objectives as outlined in client contracts/agreements. The Project Manager for each project and the Manager of the Development unit will assign duties, track accomplishments, monitor and review performance of the Developer. The Developer will also assist internal IT staff with implementation, installation, and maintenance of systems and hardware. Special projects an internal projects will also be assigned on an as needed basis by members of management and senior associates.
General Responsibilities:
• Develop, test, and implement new applications
• Analyze, enhance, and customize current applications
• Maintenance of current applications
• Support quality assurance testing and production installations
• Create analysis, design, and test documents
• Provide technical support to internal consultants working on client projects
• Interface with clients to gather and document business and system requirements
• Provide customer support as and when required
Specific Tasks:
• Complete assignments accurately, on time, and according to project plans and direction
• Attend project and client meetings as needed and offer appropriate level of input; create client
deliverable emails, presentations, and documentation as required
• Act as a team member by partnering with consultants and clients to support projects,
deliverables, and technical emergencies
• Take direction and feedback from consultants and project managers
• Work directly with consultants to ensure project and product technical specifications and timelines are being met
• Work to exceed appropriate level of Polaris competencies
• Provide feedback to project managers related to workload and deliverables
General Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience, masters degree preferred
• At least 7 years of experience in using ASP.NET for developing Internet/Intranet based
Applications, MUST HAVE EXPERINCE WITH .NET 3.5 (ASP.NET), C#, Generics, WCF, WF, .NET Security, etc
• Experience in interfacing with corporate IT systems preferred, but not required
• Strong software development skills for web-based and n-tier applications. Experienced in the
analysis and design of middle-tier components
• Experienced in the various stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Web technologies experience: ASP.NET ASP, COM, XML/XSL, HTML, VB Script,
Java Script, DHTML, Java.
• Databases: Experienced in database programming in SQL Server (2000/2003/2005) using T-SQL
and Data Transformation Systems (DTS)
• Development Tools: Microsoft Visual Studio.NET
• Programming languages needed: VB6, C#.NET,VB.NET, PL/SQL
